Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules governing your use of the Find a Contract platform ("Service"), operated by Find a Contract Ltd. This AUP forms part of our Terms and Conditions and applies to all users of the Service, including all team members within your organisation.
The Service is designed to help UK suppliers discover, evaluate, and pursue public procurement opportunities through AI-powered intelligence tools. This AUP ensures that the Service is used responsibly and in accordance with applicable UK law, including the Procurement Act 2023, the Computer Misuse Act 1990, and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Permitted Use
You may use the Service for the following legitimate business purposes:
- Searching for and reviewing UK public procurement contract opportunities.
- Using AI-powered match scoring, contract briefs, and bid assessments to support your procurement decision- making.
- Managing your bid pipeline, including tracking opportunities through the Kanban board and task checklists.
- Monitoring competitors, buyers, and market sectors through the intelligence modules.
- Creating and managing Freedom of Information requests related to your procurement activities.
- Collaborating with your team members through shared pipeline, notes, and watchlist features.
- Exporting data for your own internal reporting and analysis purposes.
3. Prohibited Activities
You must not use the Service to:
- Scrape or harvest data: Use automated bots, crawlers, scrapers, or other automated tools to extract, download, or collect data from the Service beyond the export features provided. This includes programmatic access to the Service without our written consent.
- Reverse engineer: Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or AI models underlying the Service.
- Share credentials: Share, transfer, or allow the use of your login credentials by any person who does not hold a licensed seat within your organisation. Each user must have their own account.
- Resell or redistribute: Resell, sublicense, or redistribute any data, analysis, or content obtained from the Service to third parties, whether for commercial gain or otherwise.
- Misrepresent data: Present AI-generated match scores, briefs, or analysis as your own independent assessment when communicating with contracting authorities. Misrepresent the source or accuracy of data obtained through the Service.
- Circumvent procurement rules: Use the Service in a manner that would constitute collusion, bid-rigging, or any other violation of the Procurement Act 2023 or public procurement regulations.
- Competitive intelligence misuse: Use competitor intelligence features to engage in tortious interference, defamation, or other unlawful activities against competitors. Competitor data is derived from publicly available government records and must be used responsibly.
- Overload the Service: Intentionally or recklessly overload the Service infrastructure through excessive requests, denial-of-service attacks, or similar disruptive behaviour.
- Introduce malware: Upload or transmit viruses, worms, trojans, or any other malicious code to or through the Service.
- Interfere with security: Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or test the vulnerability of authentication mechanisms, Row-Level Security policies, or any other security features of the Service.
- Violate laws: Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable UK or international law, including data protection, anti-bribery, and competition law.
4. Account Responsibility
As the organisation administrator (super_admin), you are responsible for the actions of all users within your organisation's account. You must ensure that all team members are aware of and comply with this AUP.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all account credentials within your organisation. If you become aware of any unauthorised use of an account or any breach of this AUP by a team member, you must notify us immediately at support@findacontract.co.uk.
We reserve the right to review account usage patterns to detect potential violations of this AUP, including unusual data export volumes, automated access patterns, or credential sharing indicators.
5. Data Export and Usage
The Service provides built-in export features (CSV downloads) for contracts, pipeline data, competitor profiles, and other content. You may use exported data for your own internal business purposes, including bid preparation, management reporting, and strategic planning.
You must not use exported data to create a competing product or service, build a database that substitutes for the Service, or systematically extract and store data beyond what is necessary for your legitimate business use. Bulk exports are limited to 1,000 records per request as specified in the API documentation.
6. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP and to take appropriate action, including:
- Issuing a warning to the account holder.
- Temporarily suspending access to the Service pending investigation.
- Permanently terminating the account in cases of serious or repeated violations.
- Reporting illegal activities to the appropriate law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice before taking enforcement action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service, other users, or comply with legal obligations. No refund will be provided for periods of suspension or termination resulting from AUP violations.
7. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any activity that violates this AUP, please report it immediately to support@findacontract.co.uk. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly while maintaining the confidentiality of the reporter where possible.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated AUP.
