Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide information to site owners, and enhance the user experience. This Cookie Policy explains how Find a Contract Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies, including localStorage, when you use the Find a Contract platform.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which provides full details on how we handle your personal data.
2. Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function. These cookies cannot be disabled without affecting the core functionality of the platform. We do not require consent for essential cookies under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).
- Supabase authentication session: Maintains your logged-in session across page visits. These cookies are set by Supabase Auth and are required for secure authentication. They contain an encrypted session token and are deleted when you log out.
- CSRF protection tokens: Short-lived tokens that protect against cross-site request forgery attacks when submitting forms.
3. Functional Cookies and localStorage
We use browser localStorage to store user preferences and application state that enhance your experience. localStorage data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. These items include:
- Sidebar collapse state (
sidebar-collapsed): Remembers whether you prefer the navigation sidebar expanded or collapsed. - Watchlist data (
watchlist-*): Stores your watched contracts, buyers, suppliers, and market monitors locally. This data includes priority settings, notes, groups, and alert preferences. - Pipeline extended data (
pipeline-*): Stores pipeline task checklists, comments, document attachments, qualification scores, and activity history locally. - Re-tender extended data (
retender-extended): Stores qualification status, assignee, notes, and dismissal state for re-tender opportunities. - Competitor keyword preferences: Stores your saved keyword search groups for competitor discovery.
You can clear localStorage data at any time through your browser settings. Clearing this data will reset your watchlist, pipeline notes, and preference settings to their defaults.
4. Analytics Cookies
We may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with the Service, helping us identify areas for improvement. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymised where possible. We will only set analytics cookies with your explicit consent.
If we introduce third-party analytics services in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent before setting any analytics cookies.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Our payment processor, Stripe, may set cookies when you interact with the payment and billing interface (e.g., during checkout or when managing your subscription). These cookies are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or social media cookies. We do not sell or share cookie data with third parties for advertising purposes.
6. Managing Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, though this may affect the functionality of the Service. Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the Service. Clearing localStorage will reset your watchlist, pipeline data, and preference settings.
7. Consent
In accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and UK GDPR, we obtain your consent before setting any non-essential cookies. Essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to function do not require consent.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time. If you have previously given consent and wish to withdraw it, you can do so by clearing cookies in your browser settings or contacting us at support@findacontract.co.uk.
8. Contact
For questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at support@findacontract.co.uk.
